Precancerous conditions of the female genitalia refer to abnormal cellular changes that have the potential to develop into cancer if left untreated. These conditions may include cervical dysplasia, vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN), vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN), and endometrial hyperplasia. Early detection and management are crucial to prevent progression to cancer. Cancer of the female genitalia encompasses various malignancies such as cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, and vulvar cancer. Symptoms may include abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, changes in bowel or bladder habits, and unusual vaginal discharge. Timely diagnosis through screenings, such as Pap tests and HPV tests, along with appropriate treatment modalities including surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy, are essential for optimal outcomes and prognosis.
